Is your eco-footprint smaller if you live alone in a small apartment or if you share a larger house with other people?

This would be hard to answer without more details. It depends on your water usage, where your food comes from (whether you grow it yourself/buy local and organic/ buy at a grocery store where food comes from all over the world etc), the transportation and energy you use etc. Usually, apartment buildings are more efficient from a building and energy use stand point than single family homes, though they become less efficient the less people living there.

Your eco-footprint depends mostly on how you live, regardless of where you live. But, in general, resources used communally (like in a larger house with many people) tend to be fewer than if everyone lived alone and lit, heated, etc. their houses separately.
