Would switching to renewables really create that many jobs?

Wouldn’t they just replace others.

In a September 2009 report “Working for the Climate” by Greenpeace International, it was predicted that 11.3 million people could be working in the electricity and energy-efficiency business by 2030 if there was a nine-fold increase in renewable energy and energy efficiency measures. Business as usual would result in about 12 million jobs. However, if policies were developed which increased environmental measures, jobs would also be created in other fields- such as construction and retrofitting buildings.
