I doubt that our agricultural industry would fail if we no longer ate beef. In fact, it would take a large strain off of farmers, but it would have be in supplement with many policy shifts. If we ate less beef, we’d obviously breed less cows and could potentially grow productive, healthy, and happy cows. There would be less feed that would be needed which would have profound effects on corn production and their subsidies. I know it sounds like a bleak picture and it would certainly change the landscape of the agricultural industry, but in the end there are so many parts of it that need to be restructured that it’s important to just kind of break the model.
