In the long run, yes, but not at first. Higher oil prices would hurt us at the gas pump and in the stock market, which would not be good during this recession. However, as time went on, more and more companies would start to switch to alternative energies and that would be great as a way to jump start the green movement. It is a double edged sword, but only the countries with the majority of oil can control prices, and our amount of oil pails in comparison to countries like Russia and Saudi Arabia.
