Smog is something that comes from cars, rather than something you can do to them. The word comes from a combination of “smoke” and “fog,” and is a general term to describe the visible haze over cities and other polluted areas caused by cars, trains, planes, chimnies and anything else that causes pollution. People can reduce smog from their caurs by driving in moderation, espacially on bad air quality days; making sure their cars pass emissions; and buying hybrids, electric cars and other cars with good gas mileage. The site below contains an interactive tool to learn what factors contribute to smog production.
