Sadly, I don’t think it’s worth the cost of replacing all the old dams with hydro electric dams. Dams by their very construction place quiet a toll on the eco system of the area and there is a lot of further damage that is possible by replacing a dam. It would be an incredibly costly enterprise as well. It’s best to continue to develop other renewable energies in other settings. By cultivating solar and wind along with hydroelectric, it can be a nice combination solution to the problem.
