Would it be cheaper to buy your food locally?

When talking about the pros and cons of buying local one of the common issues is price.  Typically, the reason more people buy at supermarkets is because of the lower cost paired with the convenience.  It is expensive to grow healthy, locally produced fruits and vegetables, but in the long run, very worth it.  One way to keep your cost down when buying local is to make sure to buy food in season.  Also, consider the amount of cost behind what you are buying in the supermarket — the pesticides, fertilizers, the gas for transport, and the labor.
