Would a high-profile music festival aimed at climate change awareness be successful?

I don’t think it would be. The travel miles for the bands, vendors, and concertgoers would be incredibly hypocritical. Not to mention, the energy used to power the venue and the media. People would get too distracted by the headliners to release the true purpose of the show. In addition, how could you decide how much to charge and who gets the money?

We’ve already forgotten about September 11 and Hurricane Katrina, two disasters that had high-profile concerts in order to raise money for victimss and/or awareness of the plight of survivors.  I can’t imagine anyone would remember the “climate change concert”.
