I think that adding “LEED Certified Inspector” to the resume of a civil engineer would help that engineer earn more money in a couple of ways. First, depending on whether the engineer is a member of a union and what the union regulations say, the engineer might be able to do certification inspection as a side job, which would obviously earn more money. Second, I would think that having that credential means it is more likely that engineer could produce something that would pass LEED certification, if needed, saving development time and money.
