Is wood sealer bad for the environment?

    The EPA is conducting studies on sealants now.  Their preliminary results have found that all of the sealants that they tested released dislodgeable arsenic in CCA-treated wood for up to a year of natural weathering.  They recommend using oil or water-based sealants as opposed to paints or film-formers.  More information on this study is below.
