Is wind the main thing in Egypt that is causing erosion from the pyramids?

Wind is certainly contributing, but studies have shown that considerable erosion can be attributed to precipitation (rain,) particularly in the case of the Great Sphinx. These finds have allowed there to be considerable historical uproar, as it may indicate that the pyramids and Sphinx are actually much older than previously believed. Current known history dictates that they were built around 4,600 years ago, but if the seeming water erosion present is confirmed, this could mean that they were actually constructed around 9000 years ago, when the Egyptian climate was much wetter!
