What works best in one region (wind in the Midwest or Mountains, for example) may not work as well in another. Also, wind is naturally occurring and able to be utilized with very few drawbacks. On the other hand, biomass fuel can sometimes take valuable resources away from food supplies to be used for production of fuel crops. In addition, transferring the fuel to energy involves processes often resulting in the release of CO2.
