Will US imports cost more due to the EPA’s new nautical emissions standards?

Estimates for international shipping via ships will see a modest price increase valued around 3%, or $18/container.  Cost increases are expected to be fully transferred to the consumer, and would equate to about $0.01 (one cent) for a pair of shoes.  New nautical emission standards should begin implementation by the year 2012.
