Will the turtle populations ever be able to bounce back after this last oil spill?

Even before the oil spill, sea turtle numbers were in rapid decline, due to pollution, poaching and commercial fishing, and the oil spill was definitely a devastating blow.  However, since then, more aggressive conservation measures have been put into place, and in time the sea turtle population may recover.  The difficulty with sea turtles is that due to their long life span, and the fact that they don’t reach sexual maturity for decades after their birth, their recovery will be incredibly slow, and the success of consevation efforts will be unknown for many years.
