Will there be less fires started in homes if we switch to LED’s?

    Most definitely, because they do operate at a far lower temperature than both halogen and incandescent.

To elaborate on greenjoy’s answer, LEDs lower power consumption when compared to fluorescent or incandescent bulbs indicate that a complete switch of a lighting system in your home would not only reduce electricity costs drastically, but also limiting the chance of a power surge and subsequent electrical fire.
