As far as I know there isn’t any proposal in the near future that will yield the construction of a high speed rail line. There hasn’t been a proposition voted on, like in California, to promote high speed rail. That doesn’t mean, however, that there isn’t enthusiasm in Texas to build such a system. The Texas High Seed Rail and Transportation Corporation is pushing for high speed rail. So to answer your question: Texas will not build a high speed rail line in the near future. I imagine that something of the sort will be built eventually, though.
