Probably not. Most mainstream environmental groups (including WWF) realize that seal hunting is an integral part of many native Canadian cultures. As such, it’s difficult to take a totalist stance on it (that it should be wiped out). Getting rid of the seal hunt would be seen as a further delegitimization of an already decimated human cultural population. I think the best thing to hope for is for limited regulation of the seal hunt and the acceptance on the part of native peoples of limited alterations in hunting methods and techniques to decrease the suffering of individual seals within the hunt.
