Most birds do not express cannibalistic tendencies, but many do. Particularly members of the family Corvidae, which includes crows and rooks, as well as large sea birds like skuas. Most birds will only eat dead birds, as is the case with crows and other carrion eaters. There is evidence that overfishing is leading to more bird cannibalism. Chickens will also become cannibalistic if they are overcrowded.
