Will the melting sea ice make the worlds carbon storage less than it used to be?

    Actually, there’s been research arguing that melting the polar caps would increase carbon storage! The argument is that it would allow greater populations of phytoplankton which would therefore use up more CO2. This is highly debated, but it’s quite fascinating.
