This would depend on how you went about losing and maintaining the right weight. Generally, eating more vegetables and eating less meat helps the environment and uses up less resources. Producing a pound of animal protein uses ten times the amount of fuel used to produce a pound of plant protein. Meat production requires more fertilizer, pesticides, fuel to operate machinery, transportation, and the clearing of grasslands and forests, all of which contribute to climate change. By adapting a green lifestyle and eating more vegetables and less meat, we contribute less to these problems.
