Will Google’s decision to skirt Chinese censors by redirecting through Hong Kong allow the Chinese people more access to foreign opinions about the environment, politics, etc or will the government just block Google all together?

Most people in China use the government-run search engine Baidu over Google anyways. However, if having a completely unfiltered Google be routed through Hong Kong servers is possible to get to mainland users, then chances are very good that the government will censor Google. This has been done in the past, and it should be no surprise that it will happen.
