This will depend mostly on whether or not they can keep their price down. Fuel cells need to be refilled, one way or another, by the element they run on. Renewable energy, on the other hand, draws its power from natural sourse, like wind or sun. Thus if renewable energy ever reaches a truly feasible position from a power standpoint, it will be a one time buy, whereas a fuel cell is a continuous payment.
