It is hard to say, as there aren’t any mass produced publicly available electric cars. But their batteries might cause biggest problems for their value. I think that electric cars will have to be developed in such a way that changing batteries is efficient, fast and cheap. If that will be possible I would think that the value of the car wouldn’t be significantly different than other cars. But considering current battery technologies, I wouldn’t be surprised if their resale value was just a fraction of their original price.
