will Chicago ever be powered by Wind?

I doubt it — wind power is, unfortunately, unreliable and can’t provide all of such a big city’s energy needs. Wind could provide part of the solution, though. Chicago does have some things in its favor — it’s called the windy city for a reason. There’s lots of flat prairie in Illinois which could be used for wind turbines, and there’s also rooftop turbines on the market now which could be used in the city itself. But wind power alone probably won’t be enough, since it only works when the wind is actually blowing. It would probably have to be supplemented by solar power and maybe even coal or nuclear power as a back-up.
