Will battery swap programs become more popular in America soon?

Battery swap programs currently aren’t what you would call popular anywhere – Japan’s “test run” of the battery swap program did great, proving that technology can help aid the electric car market.  Battery swap stations in Japan allow EVs – taxis, in this case – to pull in for an automatic (robotic) exchange of their drained battery for a fresh one.  It takes less than 60 seconds, and is a great step forward in EV popularity – but EVs in general will have to become more of a mainstream, everyday thing in America before the need for battery swap stations is there.
