Yes, but only if we continue to mistreat it. Global warming is causing the polar ice caps to melt, and so if the temperature keeps rising the ice simply cannot stay frozen. The Arctic sea ice is shrinking by 10% each year, and while some of it returns in the winter, once it leaves us in January it’s probably gone for good. We’re not likely to lose winter entirely in our lifetime, but it is certainly a possibility, and definitely for generations to come.
