I think that to date solar power has received a lot more press and it has been made more accessible and price-efficent for many people. Wind is still something we think of as being a large field of mills and not something installed for a single home. Also, if your house in an area that is blocked in or does not receive a lot of wind, wind power is not practical. Solar panels collect energy even the on cloudy days and units are available for single-family homes.
