It depends how sensitive you are. If one cup of coffee in the morning is going to keep you up at night, opt for green tea instead which has much less caffeine. Caffeine in large quantities can increase your heart rate, so avoid too much if you’ve been experiencing heart problems. Too much of anything is bad for your health, but if you’ve noticed no irritating effects after drinking small quantities of it, it should be fine in moderation.
Caffeine overdose can lead to health problems such as irregular heartbeats, breathing issues, insomnia, and vomiting. Drinking too much caffeine can be toxic and it has been known to be fatal in a few extreme cases. It is a stimulant and the general recommended daily allowance is 300 mg of caffeine.
