Hmmmm??? Here’s what I had written until I did some more research (because I will admit, up to about a minute ago, I was uninformed): “What!? I don’t know what toys you are talking about, but they must be old…” But then I found this article which says that some toys have been discovered to contain more lead than the government allows — which is now a low, low 300 parts per million (or only 0.03 percent lead) — up to 20,000 parts per million in some. I guess there is so much lead in them because the toy manufacturers of these toys are not testing their products (or they’re choosing to ignore the new standards) before shipping them to the US.
