In cats, taurine is needed to from biliary salts. These are needed to digest fats. Unlike other animals, the cat can not use or create other amino acids to replace this role of taurine. This means that taurine must come from its diet.
Taurine is an important amino acid that comes from meat and is essential for a cat’s diet. Taurine deficiency can cause blindness, heart problems & digestion issues if not addressed quickly.
