Why is sustainability “blue”?

The idea of sustainability as blue was introduced by former Saatchi & Saatch Worldwide Creative Director, Bob Isherwood. He used the term at the Sustainable Brands International conference to encourage people to think of sustainability as a “blue ocean of opportunity.” According to Isherwood, blue thinking goes beyond the one product innovation. Blue thinking is about long term planning and transformation.
