Humans SHOULD protect and save endangered species in order to preserve the ecosystems of the world.  For example, if bats went extinct, wild bananas would probably go extinct as well.  Modern bananas are very prone to disease, and new strains need to be introduced from wild bananas in order to keep bannas viable as a harvestable crop.  Therefore, we need to make sure the bats that eat wild bananas don’t go extinct.
