Why is Nissan Leaf more popular than the Chevy Volt?

The Nissan Leaf and the Chevy volt are very different cars, targeting very different markets. The Nissan Leaf just happens to have a wider market. It offers zero-emmissions, 100 mpg, and it is even cheaper. While the Chevy Volt is targeted towards people who want to have a gas powered generator to power the electric engine–making a car that will always run as long as there is a bit of gas in the generator. Though it is 100%~ electric, it does offer this extra option; a nice edition that makes the vehicle a bit more expensive. Based on vehicle performance however, it only estimates 40 mpg; better than most, but the leaf.
