The temperature is more stable year-round at the equator due to the angle of the sunlight received. This varies based on the position of the Earth’s orbit throughout the year and the tilt of Earth’s axis.
Locations near the equator are hit more directly by sunlight all year round than the North Pole ever is. The tilt of the earth on its axis is the reason for this.
