why is it so important to control waste water runoff?

    Waste water runoff, depending on what is was used for, can carry all sorts of different chemicals. When the waste water runs into a body of water or gets absorbed into the earth, those chemical can contaminate the soil, water, and/or ground water. Water is carry pollutants with it wherever it goes.

    Uncontrolled water runoff can have human health risks, ecosystem disturbances and various aesthetic impacts to water resources. It can also create uncontrollable flooding and be detrimental to agricultural resources. Impervious surfaces dramatically increase waste water runoff and is large culprit of water pollution.
