Why is it so humid in New Orleans?

Humidity in any coastal city, like New Orleans, is high. Humidity refers to the amount of water vapor in the air. The proximity to the ocean means New Orleans’ air has more water vapor in it that comes off the ocean. This creates a more humid atmosphere than in a mountainous or land-locked state since they do not have ocean access or proximity.

It’s so humid because New Orleans is on the coast. There’s so much water evaporating, it hangs in the air and causes the air to have moisture.
