Currently, wild boars (pigs) are in over 39 states in the U.S., are about 500 pounds in weight, and eat anything and everything they can find. Because of this, they are spreading disease to current farms spread out across these states because of their exposure in the open environment.

They also cause a lot of property damage.  They are notorious for ruining laws and golf courses.  This is causing many developments, businesses, and sports areas to spend thousands to buy fences to keep these wild pigs out.
