Why “go green” and not “go blue”?

    Historically in Western cultures, the color green evokes nature and health. It is associated with the color of nature and of spring, a time of rebirth and renewal. It symbolizes fertility, youth and environment. This is why the phrase “going green” or “green” politics, architecture, energy or movements. While blue is the color of our oceans, the color blue is mostly associated with confidence and security (police uniforms are often the color blue), as is known to be a calming or depressing color.
