Why is global warming speeding up the desertification process?

Because global warming is heating up the earth, it is taking the moisture out of the ground. If the ground/soil has no moisture than the plants can not survive. With no plants the soil can not stay in place and will dry out completely. Everything is interconnected.

Due to the impacts of global warming, there is a decrease in the total amount of rainfall in arid and semi-arid areas. Check out the link for more information.
