Why is the flame on your stove blue?

The flame is blue because the fire is burning cleanly and efficiently. As a result, not much light is emitted, resulting in a blue flame. A blue flame is also the hottest part of a fire, so if the stove flame is yellow or orange, then something’s not working quite right in the stove. Yellow/orange flames result from burning ‘dirty’ fuels, which leave behind soot.
