Soluable fiber reduces your cholesterol. Insoluable fiber cleans out your colon, and keeps things from getting backed up. Fiber rich foods also tend to make you feel fuller, so you are less inclined to over eat.
A high fiber diet has also been linked to lower occurrence of cardiovascular disease (from the reduced cholesterol, as previously mentioned) as well as colon cancer and diabetes. Just make sure that you’re consuming enough water, about eight glasses a day, along with the fiber.
