Why is everyone talking about the Arctic melting but not Antarctica?

Media coverage reports that Antarctica’s summers have warmed up a little, but not enough to cause significant melting.  The summer of 2009 recorded the least amount of melting that has occured within the past thirty years.  NASA clarifies this data and reports that although Antarctica’s ice has not been melting as fast as expected, it is still losing mass due to the “…fact that ice can flow without melting.”
