Why is ethanol not considered environmentally friendly?

    While ethanol is a good alternative to traditional oil and gasoline, producing ethanol from plant cellulose can have negative environmental effects as well. Some aspects include, the source of the ethanol and the impact of harvesting cellulose. Also, the transport of ethanol on trucks is more costly and creates more pollution that just moving oil through pipelines.
