When you are sick, you are losing precious bodily fluid to sweat, vomiting, and other nasty things which come out, thus depleting your electrolytes, which are needed for energy and proper cell functioning. Also, a sick person probably doesn’t eat too much so their blood sugar could be much lower. Anyways, juice can provide a much needed sugar rush to raise the blood sugar, and making a sick person feel a bit better and hydrated. This question is an important reminder that we need to stay hydrated no matter if we are sick or not.
Very true, and in addition, citrus juices are specifically good for treating cold symptoms because of the Vitamin C. They’re better than sodas because they’re just generally more healthy. Gatorade is also good, because it contains all those necessary electrolytes.
