Why don’t we hear about rolling blackouts anymore?

Rolling blackouts were a big deal because they had to be used so much in California at the beginning of the 2000s with the electricity crisis.  In 2006, Texas had a period of rolling blackouts as well.  They haven’t been used large-scale in a while because California increased its energy supply and Enron is no longer manipulating the energy supply!  On the East Coast, where the extreme heat conditions are less common than in California and Texas, there are brownouts but rolling blackouts have never been a major thing.

In countries like India, Iran, Nepal and South Africa, there are regular rolling blackouts, sometimes on a daily basis.
