Why don’t we have standardized measurements everywhere in the world?

    Seems like common sense doesn’t it? Interesting question, and I can’t provide the definate answer but I can tell you that the US is standardized by NIST for commercial measurements, and is the only country that does not use the metric system. There is however an international measurement system based on the metric system. Good idea to use just one, although by now America is fixed on the imperial system and it would be extremely difficult to switch to using the international method of measurement nowadays.
