Why don’t we eat more bugs in America?

This is probably due to a certain stigma carried over from the colonial days. Whatever civilizations settled in America didn’t have insects as a part of their staple diet, so that did not take here. Also without learning more about native culture, no one would have known what insects were safe or nutritious to consume, assuming there were any cultures in America that did. When it comes down to it, it just didn’t rise to the top as a source of food.
