Why don’t plants and trees in the wild require fertilizer?

Because their ecosystems naturally replenish all the nutrients. For instance, earthworms are some of the most productive helpful creatures, we buy them and put them, and their castings into our gardens; these and many of the best fertilizers are just things that have come from nature. We especially need to fertilize crops because as the land is continually used the land is slowly completely leached of nutrients as almost all the elements that keep the ecosystem in balance have been removed in your standard agricultural field these days.
