Actually Hawaii is the state with the most extinctions. However, Alabama does rank 4th in the nation in terms of sheer biodiversity (number of species). It is also the 6th most polluted state according to the EPA. It is also small compared to the states ranked ahead of it in Biodiversity (except Hawaii, these states are Florida, California, and Texas.
