Why does your pee change colors with dehydration?

Dehydration changes the concentration of urochrome in your pee.  It is like taking a glass of cranberry juice and diluting it, the color will get less and less red the more you dilute it.  You can find out more facts about urine color and what things might change it (both dietary and disease) here http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/urine-color/ds01026

The three main causes of abnormal urine color are: 1. Foods you have taken 2. Drugs you have taken 3. health issues. Side effects of some drugs have been known to cause changes in urine color. Dehydration and certain foods that you have eaten have been proven to be a cause as well.
